Croatian BIM Grenade

Body and fuze box for the Croatian made plastic BIM grenade.
The BIM hand grenade was made in the PLASTIKA factory in Croatia between 1991 and 1993. The grenade has a distinctive beehive shaped body consisting of two plastic halves glued together with ball bearings internally lining a series of concentric tapering steps. At the start of the war the Croatian army had large quantities of M75 practice fuzes confiscated from ex-Yugoslavian People's Army bases which were modified to simplify production of the new urgently needed grenades. The original black powder simulation charges used in the VBR M-75 were removed and replaced with Croatian made improvised detonators.
The BIM was produced in various color schemes. A version with a CS filling was also produced which has a black lower body and red upper body section.
