New Releases
MAC N CHEESE, HG22, YEET22, & 556(S)
In 3D2A, 2024 was the year that ended with a bang. It was a year of reversals of fortune, which saw a new design group become the most productive and downloaded. For our year-end releases, we feature Middleton Made's refinement of his MAC-11 series: the Mac n Cheese v2.5. In DIY Defense, the MAC-11 platform is as standard as the AR-15 and the G19, and we wecome the maturity 3D building has brought to it. In the Mac n Cheese's case, these improvements include removing the feedramp, improving the mag catch, and an adjustable overtravel stop for the trigger. The developer STEP files are not in the current project, which is a shame, but they are slated for release.
Black Lotus Coalition and HulkHoganHH have both released upgrades their .22LR offerings in the wake of the Not-A-Glock release last month. BLC creator Imposter Arms remixed AG Off Grid's Gremlin design as both a glue gun and a phallus. While it may be regrettable that AG isn't around to react to this work, the simplicity of design is an excellent reminder of just what's possible in FDM as a medium. HulkHogan has also taken an existing design, from Shit_On_Wheels, and refined it in the form of the Yeet22 Hammer: a primarily printable semi-automatic .22 pistol. How will the Yeet22 stack up against the Not-A-Glock? And will the answer to that question mean anything for the future of primarily printed firearms?
We finish this month's highlights with Stubb's release of the Sturmgewehr 556(S). This is another mostly-printed design that uses common AR-15 components to create a 1:1 external copy of the venerated STG44. While this is not a parametric design, it is nevertheless an admirable achievement. The origin of the project was the desire to create a sheet metal version, which leaves the doop open for curious, garage manufacturers to realize another's vision.

MANGIONE 3D SHOOTING FALLOUT
So much has been written and said about the shooting of UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson, including the fact that the pistol (frame) used in his shooting was made on a 3D printer. Law enforcement nationwide was quick to turn its attention to 3D2A networks, and the predictable censorship from YouTube and the legacy media got so bad that even channels like Fuddbusters might stop making their beloved children's content.
After Mangione's extradition back to New York to face federal charges, the next legal development in this saga has become the civil prosecution of The Gatalog, the Florida enterprise that published the files used to make his gun.
An eighty-one-page RICO complaint was filed in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida on Friday the 27th, and it's a fascinating look inside an interstate, international conspiracy.
Was JStark murdered? Who worked with the 14K in Hong Kong? And just who was Pla.boiii? A Florida federal court has just become the nation's instrument for discovering the details, the identities, and the even greater mysteries of America's 3D2A underground.

Tactics of Using FPV Drones by the Enemy
Ukraine War Archive recently uploaded an English translation of the Russian text: Tactics of Using FPV Drones by the Enemy (In Diagrams) and Methods of Counteraction. While we're becoming accustomed to video of various drone operations conducted in the Russo-Ukrainian War, this illustrated text is a standout for its approach to formalizing this developing mode of warfare.
The document gives a short introduction to the technology in question as well as methods of countering drones that have been discovered on the battlefield. We can read about 19 separate tactical methods that soldiers employ when operating FPV drones. The illustrations are full-color and top-notch, with a completely unhinged representation of the FPV drone operators in question. This thing is more than a curiosity for the war-enjoyer.
