One of the most promising developments in the past year has been the creation and distribution of printable devices outside of the standard firearms patterns. Enter the signal launchers. The ability to lob pyrotechnic loads from a stable platform is especially interesting with hybrid designs due to their engineering for lower chamber pressures (compared to rifle cartridges). These designs also tend to incorporate AR-15 grips and fire control groups.

Almost all the major players have tried their hand with this particular design type. AWCY has been especially prolific with these designs such as the NT79 (37MM) and the Thump N' Grind Modular 37 MM for attachment to picatinny rails on the underside of other rifles. Mussy and Zipdic came out with the BFGL as a standard 37MM platform and goongundesigns has the GU37. The BCAM-SD by AG Off Grid was featured last week within its series of remixes and offers one of the more stable and long range variants of this type of system.

Danny Meatball and Stubbs both have their own independent duos of designs with danny having a 26.5MM and 37MM with the S.M.A.L.L.S and B.A.L.L.s respectively. Stubbs produced the bullpup can launcher with the SCRUNGLR(65MM) and a more simplified 37MM design with the Pipehitter. There has been a radically simple "26.5 MM" design uploaded anonomously and DEFCAD has had the reference model for the XM97 40MM launcher since its inception.

The Scarab is itself a prinatble system for VMAC9 parts kits that strongly resembles the B&T TP9 platform. The Ripper PDW includes a variety of picatinny rails and seems to be one of the simplest (which in design is a good thing) and cleanest MAC related projects that has been produced yet. Keep an eye on Laffs' page, especially if you are interested in finding a custom grip or muzzle device.

Huge news in the legal space: Judge has Vacated the "defintion of 'Frame or Reciver'" and "the ATF has exceeded its statutory jurisdiction"

The DIY defense space has a massive victory under its belt with this ruling regarding how 80% recievers, frames, and kits are regulated. This judgment comes after the major efforts by the Biden ATF to totally disrupt our space with a Final Rule. VanDerStok v. Garland was a must-win battle for DIY gun makers and Constitutionalists to define the ATF's power and limit its ovrreach. The war is far from over, but these victories will ensure expansion of our space, and DEFCAD is a part of that fight.
