The 'Cazinka' series of grenades were produced during the civil war in former Yugoslavia between 1991 and 1995 by Bosnian forces in the city of Cazin. To use the grenade a plastic protective cap is first removed exposing a fuse which is lit using a lighter before throwing. The fuze burns for approximately 7 seconds before initiating a No.8 plain detonator secured into the end of the fuse well.
Shrapnel can be added by lining the plastic body with 4mm steel rod, nails or ball bearings or left out when used in an offensive role. The grenade body can also accept standard Yugo M75 fuzes.
