Created after the U.S. 1994 - 2004 assault weapons ban, Colt / Colt Defense created this variant of bolt carrier to function with a autosear blocked AR-15 lower receiver. Used in sporting & law enforcement AR variants, even after the ban had unset in 2004.
Due to the cut material from the rear of the carrier, it's noted the cyclic of the bolt carrier group is faster than a standard M16 BCG.
