This is the GhostBolt. A 3D printed AR15 straight pull bolt action upper that is compatible with most lowers including mil-spec. This upper can theoretically be chambered up to .458 SOCOM (Untested)

Because the upper is bolt action, there is no need for a buffer tube, meaning folding stocks are welcome!

This entire build can cost lower than 200 beans if you can shop around for parts

If you have an Apple Pie parts kit designed by MiddletonMade and 3dArms then the only thing extra you will need for this

is a 2in 5/16 Socket Head Cap Bolt.

Hardware you will need:

1x - 2in 5/16 Socket Head Cap Bolt

1x - 5/16 Nut

4x - 8/32 Threaded Rods Cut to length (Rods being cut down is personal preference only, the handguard will cover them anyways)

8x - Lock Washers that fit 8/32

8x - 8/32 Nuts

4x - 30mm M5 Bolts

4x - M5 Nuts

Parts you will need:

Ar15 Gas Block Only (Installed backwards/upsidedown to block gas port)

Ar15 Barrel - Caliber is your choice (AR-15 CALIBERS ONLY)

THIS UPPER IS DESIGNED TO FIT ANY MILSPEC AR15 LOWER, IF YOU CHOOSE THE APPLE PIE LOWER STL PROVIDED THEN THE NEEDED PARTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

IF USING MY CUSTOM DESIGNED STOCK/BRACE SYSTEM THEN YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:

1x 45mm M5 Bolt

1x M5 Nut

--------INSTRUCTIONS--------

Step 1:

Print. Everything. (Only Need 1 Handguard)

Step 2:

Install Barrel into upper and then slide barrel nut over barrel. Next there are slots for 4 nuts to go on each corner of the upper.

Slide the threaded rods into the holes and screw into each nut on the upper. Next slide the lock washers onto rods.

Now thread the 8/32 nuts over the lock washers and tighten evenly until you cant tighten any further.

(There should be no gap between upper and barrel nut)

Step 3:

Install Gas Block Backwards or Upsidedown to block gas port on barrel.

Slide handguard over barrel nut and insert 2 m5 bolts and nuts, and

tighten until the handguard is secured tightly on upper.

Next use the picatinny bride to connect the upper to the handguard,

this is to ensure the handguard doesnt walk off the upper due to vibration.

Step 4:

Insert Bolt head assembly into the bolt carrier, install cam, install firing pin, and then install firing pin retainer.

Step 5:

Screw 5/16 Bolt into Charging Handle until it wont screw in any further. Slide the 5/16 nut into the top of the bolt assembly.

Put bolt assembly into upper and screw charging handle into the side of the bolt.

Your Upper should now be complete. Follow separate instructions for whichever lower you choose to use.

For the ghost bolt lower you need a lower parts kit minus the last round bolt hold open, and assemble like normal.
