This stock is an additional part of the S96S that mimicks a more period appropriate stock. Inspired by the thin black plastic stocks of similar guns such as the HK21, FN FAL, and of course two different variants of Stoner 63.
It has a straight section along the bottom with enough clearance for the relocated ar15 charging handle, and then an exaggerated clubfoot typical of an LMG. The front is stepped up to blend the height of the reciever over the buffer. The overall size is still smaller than an m16 stock, to match proportions of the rest of this lightweight LMG, and to save on materials.
Be sure to print the rifle buffer spacer to ensure the bolt carrier does not strike the reciever, as the tube sits further back on the reinforced lower. This also means it will not retain the buffer detent, though it is not needed anyway and the trigger linkage already makes it a hassle to disassemble the upper and lower.
Leave further suggestions in the comments for features you would like to see, from the original Stoner 63, or any LMG for that matter.
Next on my list are:
-Reciever mounted rear sight. (apologies for the short sight radius here, I have a quick change barrel mechanism on the way, and the sights need to be on the handguard to ensure zero between different barrels, and I was going to put this handguard on the short one once the 13" comes in.
-Shoulder thing that goes up.
