The Systema Tumansky
The MCBA Tumansky is a solid body printed suppressor with the capability to handle supersonic and subsonic 300 Blackout and 762x39 ammunition. This has expanded as time went on, but the original goal of supersonic/subsonic 300 blackout has remained central to the design. Using the 30cal or higher, it is possible to use with 5.56, even at cyclic rate of fire. The MCBA Tumansky is able to be printed in any PLA+ or similar material. However, it should be noted that for best longevity and thermal performance, it should be used with a material with a higher melting temperature, such as ABS, PETG, or Nylon. The device is designed using principles borrowed from the RGB crescent, with the theory that supersonic rifle rounds are able to be used if the device is created with enough material. Testing has proven this to be irrefutably true. Initial testing has been successful, with the design succeeding in the majority of major critea. Thermal management is an issue with threads, hence the reccomendation for a higher temperature material. Following the initial operational test, modifications were performed based on the lessons learned, primarily with a focus on increased thermal management. The next test was also conducted with a higher temperature material. It was found that although certain mechanichal properties are slightly inferior, the design was able to withstand the forces involved as well as to survive the thermal forces. However, it is strongly reccomended that the design is printed with a well tuned printer to minimize the chances of baffle strikes. The device should not be used as if it is metal, however tests have revealed surprising resilience even with PLA+. threads – direct thread is a chincey game with pla+, the heat loading is too high for prolonged use. But with PA/PC/PETG/ABS, it is a distinct and easy method of attachment. Mostly, we reccomend that a threaded muzzle device or thread adapter with 13/16x16 or 3/4x16 thread be used. The MCBA Tumansky overall has been surprisingly durable and resistant to thermal wear, when printed with the right material and settings.
